country they were born in. All the students have added this map and the answers to these questions on their personal blogs.
We had a look at how this video makes us feel. It is about racism. It would be interesting to see what 10 year olds say about racism in New Zealand.

This map is a fantastic way to show the diversity of Waikowhai, what a powerful map! It would be interesting to add the staff onto the map too. We were having an interesting conversation in R8 on Friday last week about racism and how it causes people to feel. Perhaps we should all get together and see what comments we can generate?
ReplyDeleteMorena Room 9,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Tania and I am lucky enough to be organising the Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu blogging. This gives me the opportunity to visit class and individual blogs to see your learning. I really like the way you have used Google Maps to show where you all have been born, you are certainly very diverse in the places that you come from. I am glad you watched the video 'The Lie' - I am sure it helped you to realise that we are all different and we need all sorts of people in the world to make it a happy place to be. I would be really interested to hear what you have discovered as to why people move away from the countries that they are born in. Let me know when you share some of this learning.
Nga mihi nui
